Last night for Chanukkah I got
this mixer in red. It is GORGEOUS. I did not expect to see this except as like, a wedding gift. So, cookie making has begun in earnest! (And in Ernest, which is the name of my oven. Just so I can make that pun. Shut up.)
First: Lemon-poppyseed cookies, from my dad's family recipe. There's something to be said for making Star of David-shaped Christmas cookies from an old Jewish cookbook. We had an Ulster Fry for Chanukkah dinner last night, too. Ah, mixed families.
