Almost done this thing! I'll have to like, start making real posts again, soon. Maybe I'll scan some of this gigantic backlog of drawings.

Most Memorable Death

Okay, I'm going to go with the obvious one here...

Hello internet!

Mom & I are going to Prince Edward County for a few days. Fuck yeah, getting out of the city, drinking local wine, eating ridiculously expensive cheeses, hiking, being in a canoe... I haven't been out of Toronto since the Steampunk con! We haven't even gone camping this year, what is this even. Anyway, so I don't know whether the inn has internet or not. So I will probably end up falling even more behind in the 30 Days thing.

Speaking of, Favourite Event
No Man's Land )
Also today at work one of the kids, Boy M, had a lot to say about Batman, which I recorded for posterity. And hilarity. )

Favourite Vehicle/Form Of Transportation

I HAVE NO IDEA. I feel like the answer should be the Batmobile or the Super-Cycle? Or am I contractually obliged to say the Aerie One? I have no particular emotional attatchment to any of these-- OH WAIT I KNOW THE ANSWER IT IS THE BUG. Ted Kord made a flying car! And fought crime with it! This is pretty cool. I have no real clever thoughts on account of headache, but I'd feel guilty if I didn't get this posted tonight. (Thanks for that, brainchemistry.)

Also! A lot of my non-comics-reading friends tend to be confused by the plethora of various Robins in various configurations across several universes. So I, uh, made a helpful chart?
Batman needs a Robin, or five. )

Before I do this, I'm going to throw some links here. [livejournal.com profile] sharpest_rose has started unlocking her old DC fic! Including Jabberwock, which I have, uh, talked about extensively, and all of 2004

GUESS WHAT I'LL BE READING THIS WEEKEND *___*

(I am just realising how young I was when these were written. To be fair, I came late to the party, I think I actually read them spring of 2006, but still, I was fifteen in spring of 2006. Uh, the Robin suit gives me magic? :D?)

Now, onto memery. )

I sort of accidentally am a million years behind on this, oops?

Favourite Costume

Man, I have about a million of these. I think I'll split them into arbitrary categories!

Costumes That Are Primarily Red )
Costumes That Are Made Mostly Of Real Clothes )
Gotham Girls In Full Body-Armour )

Today's question is Favourite Power, which I don't think I actually have an answer to because most of my favourite characters don't have them. I'm a Batfamily fan! My favourite will basically always be the Badass Normal!

So no real meme answer today. But before I go-- I made a thing! A Steph tribute vid to "Joyful Girl" by Ani Difranco, because could there be a more perfect Steph song? I don't think so. Watch it here on YouTube or embedded, behind the cut. (Fair warning: There are some War Games panels in this, if you (reasonably!) want to avoid thinking about that story.)

She does it for the joy it brings. )

Favourite Game

I am not a gamer. Not in the video games sense or the board games sense or the table-top RPG sense. The only card game I play consistently is one I invented.

That said... )

(This was actually supposed to be Day Fifteen's question but I skipped it somehow)

Team-up You'd Most Like To See

Favourite Animated Adaptation

HEY INTERNET GUESS WHAT CAME OUT TODAY? I haven't even watched it yet and I already know it is going to be my favourite, so I figure I will just write this as I watch. Spoilers, obviously, and probably also flaily incoherence.

Batman: Under The (Red) Hood )

Favourite Live-Action Adaptation

I don't think I have one! I don't think there are any actually good DC live-action movies/tv shows! I mean, Adam West Batman is camp and hilarious, as is Lynda Carter Wonder Woman, and the Nolan movies at least try to be clever, but... Yeah. I don't know if there are any I actually like?

OH WAIT THAT IS A LIE. )

Favourite Enmity/Rivalry

Oh, this one's easy. Have the scans all saved and uploaded he everything. (Lots of scans, sorry if anyone reading this is on a slow connection.)

A Title You Wish You Could Bring Back

BLUE BEETLE BLUE BEETLE BLUE BEETLE. I was resistant to the idea of New Blue Beetle, because Ted Kord is very dear to me! But omg Jaime how so awesome. Jaime and Traci and Brenda and Paco and La Dama and Jaime's parents and Milagro, adorablest kid sister ever in the world. There are other cancelled/finished books I love more (Gotham Central; Young Justice), but they had relatively concrete endings. Blue Beetle.... Did not. Well, the series did, but then the backups kind of... Stopped suddenly. I miss Jaime et al, and I wish his story had at least been allowed to wrap up before being unceremoniously cancelled (again). There're talks of a live-action TV series, though, which gives me some hope that the series will be resurrected? Maybe? Please?

First Title You Were Hooked On

Completely unsurprisingly, Birds of Prey! I had been reading it in trades, then eventually it got to the point where I needed to know what was happening next as soon as I possibly could. BoP 98 was the first comic I ever bought new. Before that I had a bunch of various nearly a longbox of back-issues, but when I started buying new comics I had to admit to myself that I was hooked and that I was probably in this for the long haul. That book came out in early September 2006. By the end of the month I was working part-time at my LCS; I worked there until about a month ago. Most of the money just went back to the store to feed my comics habit.

(I will note that BoP was not, actually, the first comic I fell in love with. It was just the first that I fell in love with that was still ongoing.)
