On Tumblr, I mentioned having found an essay I wrote in high school, about Frank Miller's Robins and Simone De Beauvoir's The Second Sex, and several people said they wanted to see it.
This was the first real essay I ever wrote; I've gone through and moved quotes around, since they were basically just dropped into the beginning or end of paragraphs, but that's all I've changed. I've tried to preserve the run on sentences whenever possible, because 16-year-old me was addicted to commas.
This essay sort of dwells on the fuckery of Frank Miller's weird issues with Robin, if that's the thing you'd like to avoid. (From my journal, you'd get the impression that all I ever do for school is write essays about Robins whenever I think I can get away with it. ...Actually, I do do that, never mind.)
( Possibly the only use of the phrase 'giant burning vagina' in an academic context. )

Thing You Would Undo, If You Could

Now, art! I had barely scanned anything this summer until now, so there is... Kind of a lot. There is one original piece (a demonic Siren-type-thing) but the rest is DC. Included are most of Young Justice (with new additions to the team); Misfit; various Batgirls; Jeannette and Black Alice; and several Girl Wonders, one canon and one very AU. (I told you there was kind of a lot.)

I HAVE NO IDEA. I feel like the answer should be the Batmobile or the Super-Cycle? Or am I contractually obliged to say the Aerie One? I have no particular emotional attatchment to any of these-- OH WAIT I KNOW THE ANSWER IT IS THE BUG. Ted Kord made a flying car! And fought crime with it! This is pretty cool. comicsbigbang is a thing that exists. And soda_and_capes has written the story I've been wanting to read for about five years! And I made an illustration for it! I don't know what else to say except gushing about the story, which is about Steph and Jason figuring out what with your life after you've already died in the line of duty, and it is amazing and beautiful and I love all Robins forever.
Uh. Anyway! I made an illustration for this story! An actual finished piece, with a real background and everything! The art is g-rated, the story is definitely not.
