Favourite Vehicle/Form Of Transportation

I HAVE NO IDEA. I feel like the answer should be the Batmobile or the Super-Cycle? Or am I contractually obliged to say the Aerie One? I have no particular emotional attatchment to any of these-- OH WAIT I KNOW THE ANSWER IT IS THE BUG. Ted Kord made a flying car! And fought crime with it! This is pretty cool. I have no real clever thoughts on account of headache, but I'd feel guilty if I didn't get this posted tonight. (Thanks for that, brainchemistry.)

Also! A lot of my non-comics-reading friends tend to be confused by the plethora of various Robins in various configurations across several universes. So I, uh, made a helpful chart?
Batman needs a Robin, or five. )

Hello, Internets! It is Pride weekend in Toronto, but it is also approximately a million degrees Celsius outside and I did the Dyke March thing yesterday, so fuck going outside. So instead I drew some things! (Actually, lately I've drawn a LOT of things, but these are the ones that I don't hate.)

So as you may know, [profile] comicsbigbang is a thing that exists. And [profile] soda_and_capes has written the story I've been wanting to read for about five years! And I made an illustration for it! I don't know what else to say except gushing about the story, which is about Steph and Jason figuring out what with your life after you've already died in the line of duty, and it is amazing and beautiful and I love all Robins forever.

Uh. Anyway! I made an illustration for this story! An actual finished piece, with a real background and everything! The art is g-rated, the story is definitely not.

I have a major presentation in my WMST class tomorrow. So, naturally, I spent today drawing instead of working! Yay, poor decision making skills.

Okay, I've calmed down from the rage/hurt I was feeling last night and this morning, [livejournal.com profile] chavamara should be here soon for the Watching of the Films, I remembered to eat breakfast and lunch today...

I think it's time for an art post.
First-Appearance Spoiler, The Pumpkin Queen, Steam DCU Misfit )

Browsing friendsfriends, as one does when avoiding work, and I saw a bunch of these. There's nothing I like more than pointless navel-gazing about my own drawings, and also looking at older stuff makes me feel so much better about what I can do now, so:

Fanart Retrospective, 2005-2009 (BIG image) )

So [livejournal.com profile] yuletart was amazing, I'm glad I convinced myself to sign up. Definitely gonna do it again next year.

[livejournal.com profile] 22by7 drew me Jealousy, which is Cass and Selina being awesome while an adorable kitty attempts to steal the scene. It is GORGEOUS and it is FOR ME and gosh, I love the internet sometimes.

My recipient, [livejournal.com profile] derawr requested Runaways and Secret Six, and crossovers are my favourite, so I couldn't resist:

Molly's New Friend: Runaways/Secret Six, gen )

ALSO, I saw Sherlock Holmes on Monday, oh my god, how did that manage to be nearly everything I could ever want in a Holmes movie? Everybody in it is so awesome, seriously, if you saw the trailer and were like "What is this, this is an action movie, why is Adler walking around in her underwear, what the hell, why is there so much fighting and so little mystery-solving?!" all I can say is that film trailers are about as useful as comic book covers.

I am trying to think of an effective segue into posting art of Irene Adler and Mary Morstan, but I can't, so... Here are some pictures of ladies in waistcoats! )

I am FINISHED SCHOOL for the term! Which means I have more time to devote to ridculousness. Luckily, I have found ridiculousness in spades. Seriously people, Adventures in Wonderland is made of pure joy dipped in sugar. I'm linking to some of the better episodes, I vote you should at least try to watch one. ([livejournal.com profile] colonize, you're excluded 'cos I already know you hate joy.)

There's the episode where everyone in Wonderland is racist against walruses, and the one where we find out that Hare is an expert on cocks chickens, and the one where Hatter develops an allergy to Hare, and the one where Rabbit becomes the world's first transvestite furry supermodel and the one where Hatter can't keep his hands off Hare's package* and the one where Hare has trouble talking about ~*~feelings and Hatter is oblivious and the one where Alice battles sexism or the one where everybody in Wonderland jumps to stupid conclusions about aliens and the one where there's a musical number about how Hare doesn't care about Hatter's feelings (Did I mention this show is a musical?! Because it is.) and the one where Alice has really stupid problems and the Queen is ridiculous and Rabbit inexplicably wears roller skates and Hatter and Hare are totally married OH WAIT THAT IS EVERY ONE.

* Actual, literal package.

But! I haven't just been watching this show obsessively for three days. I've also been drawing )

(This is basically everything I've drawn in October that didn't suck.)

First, my entry for [livejournal.com profile] the_pornthenon's Hallowe'en Costume Contest.
Tim/Steph/Jason, mild R for sexual situations, I guess?
Identity Porn )
And back to the sort of thing I'm more used to drawing:

So I've signed up for [livejournal.com profile] yuletart, which I think overall was a good idea but is causing me stupid amounts of "Aaaaagh what if I can't draw and people just say I can to be nice?!!" anxiety. (Stupid brain chemistry...) Some of the fandoms I said I could draw for are things I either haven't drawn in years or haven't drawn ever, so I've been working on that before I get my assignment. By mid-October everything I own is gonna be covered in Nightmare Before Christmas characters...
2 & 5 from 9; Nightmare Before Christmas (sort of) )
Okay, enough procrastination, I should actually do some homework now. (It will probably not get done at ALL.)

Steam DCU version of this cover, because it's like the only one with the whole team on, since obviously Cissie left before Anita joined.

AKA Steampunk Birds of Prey. I miss that comic so fucking much, you don't even. It was the first comic I ever bought new.

This AU is my new favourite thing ever.

Tonight's offering: the Young Justice girls. (Minus Empress, 'cos I haven't figured out how the race politics work in this universe yet.)

Miss Cecily King-Jones, Miss Cassandra Sandsmark, the late Miss Greta Suzanne Hayes. )
...You guys, I think I 'ship Cassie/Cissie even more in this universe than in the regular DCU. And I wish my scanner would stop fucking up the reds. None of the shading shows up!
gwenfrankenstien: icon by me, art by Art Balthazar (even robins)
I finished the Steampunk Robins! I um, have a LOT to say about it, because apparently I am better at worldbuilding than like, actually creating things. So if I get rambly and tl;dr, just look at the pretty pictures?

The HMS Robin )

I kind of want every single article of clothing in this picture, not gonna lie. Well, except Steph's boots, I already own a pair.

I want to at some point draw the faculty of the Lady Elias school (basically, the Birds of Prey), once I find a design I like for a steampunk wheelchair.

GUESS WHO JUST BOUGHT A SCANNER.

I started scanning everything I've drawn since March that I don't hate, but then I got bored of it. So, uh, expect more tomorrow?
